The moderator who moved this obviously didn't get it.

But seriously, unless you're certain that Federer is in top shape and wants to win this, I would be careful.

Im going to have a 15 leg parlay starting with the Fedman and all of the college football teams that are 25 pt favourites or higher. By Dec I might get it up to EVEN money.

+7000......:missingte

can one imagine if the first set was in the books (Fed likely winning it with ease), then Fed twists his annke to start the second and retires?.....7k?.....

Fed is in some sick form right now.....won Madrid without losing a set, unreal

And the Fedman back on his home turf will be wanting to put on a show for his fellow countrymen. 70-1 in a two horse race sounds crazy, but even crazier still is its nowhere near value, even with the Fedman still trying to wash the champagne out of his eye.

Fedman could always have $5,000 on Garcia-Lopez at Betfair and pull a Davydenko. Did you see that yesterday? The second time in a year that Davy has easily won the first set and retired injured, handing the match to his opponent.

He could pick up a cool $350,000 for 25 minutes work and no one would be the wiser because the Fedman would have plenty of viable excuses for retiring. Food for thought. Does anyone know if Federer's number is in the phone book? I need to have a chat with him ;-)

Im with you Gyno. However, there are some imbeciles out there who will, believe me. Ive seen plenty of instances of players risking $20000 to pick up $150 on Federer the past couple of years. Makes you wonder how they got their hands on the 20k in the first place, if theyre that desperate for the $150.

No, no, no Gyno, you have me all wrong. It wouldnt be extortion, just a business proposition. No threats or anyone getting hurt, aside from those dirty bookies. Its win-win for all. Just the way I like it.

Alot of people on here lie about how much they bet on the games.. They want to look like bigshots on the computer... A couple of them have been caught a couple of times as well...

Would be nice to have some pull with Fedman and presuade him to do that..

I agree. In my opinion the people who feel the need to post the amount of their wagers are the ons to be avoided. Those, and the ones who feel the need to tell everyone how they did the night/week before with their tips ( rawpimple comes to mind immediately, I sure hope that guy is joking ). I dont expect anyone to follow my selections in the tennis or hockey, and in fact, prefer that they dont as I only wish to be responsible for my losses, and no one elses. Im happy to post strong opinions on games if I have them, moreso as a guide than anything lse, or answer any questions about the tennis as I have a very thorough system that could be of help to some people.

Imagine if someone had that kind of "in" with the Fedman? He has 3 or 4 legitimate excuses that he could use to lose this match and no one would give it a second thought. He go hit in the eye with champagne last Sunday and actually feared that he lost it his sight at one stage, his troublsome ankle is playing up again, he has a big tournament ahead next week, and so on.

On Betfair, there has already been nearly US$400,000 wagered on Fedman at -5000 and -10000. It would not be terribly hard to sneak in a $5000 wager against Federer at -5000 and pick up $250,000.

I might email him.

Its unbelieveable isnt it? $400,000 on a match where the price has fluctuated only 1 penny. Some lucky bugger snagged -3333 for $30, aside from that the rest has all been at -5000 and -10000. We do love a bet.

Davydenko bets on his own matches. He even asked his coach if he could retire :missingte.

Theres no doubt he does. Twice in the past year he has retired in matches where he has won the first set easily. There was an investigation after he did it last year because there was a very large bet placed on the dog with a European sportsbook and they traced it back to the players hotel via the computers IP address. Davy was a -1000 favourite and led 6-1, 1-0 and retired against Sargis Sargsian.

He also gives the lamest excuses for retiring. he retired last against Srichaphan and he said he had a headache and couldnt concentrate.

And if you look at his brother, who is also his coach, his brother looks like he has a little bit of that gangster look about him also.

I wonder if he also asked his coach if he should return the huge check he got for his appearance money. A couple hundred thousand for one and a hlaf matches work. Not bad if you can get it.

Gyno, My advice to you would be to stick to betting at the bigger tournaments i.e the Grand Slams and the Master Series events, where there is more at stake for the players. Also, I would advise you to confine your betting on tennis to only those books who payout when a match is fully completed, and who grade retirements as a push and refund your money if someone retires during the match. That way your less susceptible to losing your money should a player decide that he is not having fun any more and takes his racquets and goes home.
